ABOUT LORNA

I have had the privilege of photographing families in and around South Wales Since 2011.
I am a wife and a mother of three boys, and my eldest was 2 when our twins were born.

I would take my “busy” sons (polite term for kids with ASD and ADHD) to get photographs taken only to find the studio flashes bothered them, and also, most times, the photographers had little patience.

 I studied Autism, Child Psychology, and Photography, and my boys have taught me incredible patience.

I managed to photograph my beautiful boys myself, outside in natural light, having fun doing what kids do the best, PLAY!

Long before my three children were born, I truly understood the value of photography and printed photographs. I have only a few polaroids of my mother and only four of her with me. 

We lost her when she was 26. Soon after, I asked for a camera for my eighth birthday.

I fell in love with photography. I could be found dressing up as a princess or fairy and performing skits for pensioners to save up pocket money for rolls of film. 

I always loved babies and children, and being the eldest of eight in my new blended family, I practiced photographing all my new siblings.

I am here to help capture all those beautiful things that make up your story.

We can start with photographing your pregnancy, then newborn art in the first week of life.

A milestone like your baby sitting up unaided around 7 months old, and outdoor playful family photography, including teeth falling out at seven, new siblings, and new pets.

One day, in a heartbeat, your kids, their kids, and your great-grandchildren will look at your portraits and be able to remember and see all your magical connections to each other.

They will know how much you adored their tiny beings and how you loved, looked, and lived.

They’ll look back and see how gorgeous and young Mum and Dad were holding them at six days old, right the way up until they leave home and make families of their own.

It is for these memories that I do this work, and I genuinely believe photographs are love affirming.
