WHO WE ARE

Flat White is located in the vibrant heart of Soho amidst the Berwick Street Market: A frontier land between the Old Soho of street traders, fabric stores and vinyl shops and the New Soho of creative industries, media and fashion.

Flat White was established in September 2005 to bring the refined artisan style coffee prevalent in Australian and New Zealand cafes to London.

Flat White has become a rendez-vous for Soho locals and a haven for Australian and New Zealand expats and travellers desperate for a good coffee in the capital.

In 2008 we opened our sister cafe Milkbar, just a 3 minute walk away on Bateman St- with the same philosophy its brightly coloured banners welcome you, you will find the same great coffee on a linnea B la mazocco (plus a linneus kalita bar to sample our range of single origins) and with our ace milkbar team behind the bar serving you- its got its own vibe going on- with a little bit more room to spread out.

OUR STORY- OUR COFFEE

Flat White opened its doors in 2005 because it was nigh impossible to get a flat white; the strong, delicious creamy coffee of our namesake.

London lacked a strong independent café/coffee culture so we set out to be beacon & inspiration for other people who loved coffee, independent spirit and good old-fashioned hospitality.

Flash forward and over ten years on London is thriving with many varied and different coffee offerings- a vibrant and exciting scene of excellence and commitment to excellence.

All our shots are double as standard.
Our 4 group Synesso (the beast) was the first in Europe.
We are proud to serve beans from Drop Coffee Roasters, a Swedish outfit who have won many accolades for being one of the best in the business.
Their ethical approach, as well as their great tasting coffee’s, with a lean towards letting the natural flavors of their single origins won us over in 2014- so that’s what you can find on the main hopper. A selction of their Retail boxes of beans are always available, whole or ground.
But the most important ingredient to our success is our fantastic team.

ON THE MENU

Serving simple and delicious cafe food, with a nod to our Aussie/Kiwi Heritage.

Flat White is a champion of the All-day-breakfast and perfect for Brunch. as well as tasty lunch-time offers of sandwiches, baguettes, toasties and our famous bagels & one of the best SMASHED AVO’S on toast this side of the equator.

Artisinal bread & pastries are delivered daily from Tin Shed & The little bread Peddlar, our seasonal ingredients are the best we can find, we get our fresh stuff from the Barrow boys and where possible we aim to keep it local and foster London’s culinary creativity.

Our in house baker Shana creates our famous Banana Bread, as well as light lemon loaves, Gluten free brownies and seasonal cakes and desserts. And not to forget A.N.Z.A.C. cookies – always in the cookie jar… for a taste of home.
