The Aylesbury German Shepherd Dog Training Club
The Aylesbury German Shepherd Dog Training Club was established in 1967 by Ken Plaster who had a lifetime’s experience of training dogs, German Shepherds in particular. After leaving his role as a dog handler with the RAF, Ken continued his passion for dogs, their training and welfare.
He worked alongside the great Charlie Wyant at Totnes, training people to become instructors many of whom went on to set up their own dog training clubs or businesses, indeed the biggest dog club in Hertfordshire was begun by one of these people and our own Chief Instructor trained by Ken has for years run a successful business not only training people with their pet dogs but also working, police and military dogs.
Our team of instructors are dedicated to helping others succeed in training their dogs to become well behaved pets and for anyone wanting to progress further than this we can deliver obedience training to competition standard.
Based at the Wendover Memorial Hall in the heart of Buckinghamshire we aim to help you train your German Shepherd Dog to be a well-behaved companion using kind and reward-based methods. Club nights are held every Monday evening except public holidays between 7.00pm to 9.30pm. Refreshments are available free of charge. Classes are open to dogs of any age and ability, we do not operate a waiting list, believing in the importance of starting a young dog off as soon as possible during the vital early weeks of their development. New puppies and their owners will receive individual help from an instructor until they are ready to slot into the open class as with any older novice dog.

Aylesbury German Shepherd Dog Training Club always has and always will be a not-for-profit organisation run by the members for the members with no one, including the instructors, taking any financial reward for the services provided.
As such, the club has a variety of items for sale, including quality handmade leather training leads, competition standard dumbbells, and various other toys and club clothing range.
