LEAF began as a small tea shop run by friends in a Liverpool city centre gallery in 2007, with the goal of bringing quality loose-leaf tea to the city in an intimate and bohemian space.

We soon relocated to a bigger site on Parliament Street where we were able to host pudding clubs, album launches and vintage markets, and where we began to receive accolades and awards, both locally and nationally. We developed a fabulous team and the best regular customers a tea shop could ever dream of.

Looking for a yet bigger space to house our café and all of our monthly events, we found a truly magnificent building in autumn 2010 to make our permanent home – LEAF on Bold Street.

After five incredible years establishing our venue on Bold Street, Liverpool, we couldn’t wait to bring our own brand of tea, music and good times to other cities. Manchester, being a similarly exciting and creative city, seemed the perfect place for us to look, so we began our search for the perfect space. Eventually we discovered the former CUBE Gallery and RIBA building on Portland Street and immediately fell in love with its history, charm and neighbourhood. We’re proud to call it our Manchester home.
